Our Learn to Skate Program
We follow the Learn to Skate USA curriculum, designed to help skaters of all ages and abilities master the basics of ice skating.
The curriculum ensures that everyone can learn the fundamentals, progress to more advanced levels and eventually explore specialty classes that will introduce skaters to a wide variety of skating opportunities.
Parent and Me
Designed for very young children, typically aged 2-3, who are not yet ready to be separated from their parent or caregiver. These classes introduce basic skating skills in a playful and interactive environment, focusing on foundational elements like balance, forward glides, and learning to fall and get up, with the parent present to provide support and create a comfortable experience for the child.
Snowplow Sam 1-4
An introductory program divided into four levels, allowing children ages 4-6 with no prior skating experience to build confidence while learning the basic skating skills. Classes are taught in a safe and positive environment, incorporating fun and games, making class time an enjoyable experience. Practice includes falling and recovery, marching in place, dips and one-foot balances.
Basic Skills 1-4
Students aged seven to 14 learn fundamentals of ice skating, providing a foundation for figure skating and hockey. Four levels introduce forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, and turns. Skaters progress at their own rate and advance after skill mastery is demonstrated.
Adult 1-4
The adult curriculum is designed for both beginning and experienced adult skaters who wish to improve their skating skills. Participation in the program will help promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination while teaching proper skating techniques. Adult skaters will progress at an individual rate while being challenged and motivated.
